Their next meet will be this Saturday, September 9th at Liberty Hill. Come out and show your support!
The district meet has come and gone which means that the season is over. The boys placed 5th overall and individually Cayden Sanchez placed 16th and Julius Montez placed 13th. Kristofh Garcia, Luke Payne and Brandon Farmer also participated. The girls did not have enough participants to have a chance at a place but the individual runners were Amaya Goldsby and Adrianna Gonzales. That does it for Cross Country this year. Thanks to all who ran and any who came out on those long cold mornings to watch. Until next time!
It was another very successful day for our trio of cross country runners. Each participant had a new PR which is exactly what needs to happen in the last meet before the district championship. The times are as follows:
Julius Montez ran a 14:26.10
Cayden Sanchez ran a 14:33.60
Luke Payne ran a 15:50.60
Their next meet will be the district championships next Saturday, October 11th at the Cameron Country Club. Coach Kidd will provide details to the athletes regarding when they need to be dropped off that morning. If you can, please come out and show your support!
The results of the Rogers meet are in and both athletes ran well with personal bests. Julius Montez ran a 13:35.8 and Cayden Sanchez ran a 14:42.4.
Their next meet will be in Florence this Saturday, October 1st.
Jarrell had a meet in Crawford this weekend and here are the results:
Luke Payne ran a season best 16:25
Cayden Sanchez ran a 16:35
Julius Montez ran a season best 14:47
Team total: 47:47
The CC athletes will have the weekend off and will be back at it next weekend, Saturday, October 1st at Florence High School. Be sure to check out the photos from this weekend in the Photo Gallery.
The JMS Cougars had their first meet of the year in Cross Country and it was a home meet. Luke Payne ran a 16:55.7 and Cayden Sanchez ran a 15:12.8 which was good enough for top 20 in the 7th grade. Both did an amazing job especially considering this was their first meet ever and Luke is splitting time with football in the mornings.
Their next meet will be in Crawford at Crawford High School on Saturday, Sept. 17th. Please come out and show your support if you are able.
Cross Country practice is Mon-Thurs from 6:30-7:45 at the high school. If an athlete is also in football, they will leave Cross Country practice early and make their way to the high school stadium at 7:00 and put on their pads for practice. If an athlete is not in football, they will need a ride back to the high school. It is not recommended for 7th and 8th grade "B" team volleyball players to participate in Cross Country practice in the mornings. It is recommended that these athletes practice on their own so they don't miss volleyball practice. Volleyball players that practice after school should have no schedule conflicts. If there are any questions on this, please email Coach Wand. firstname.lastname@example.org
