The girls kicked off the regular season in style Monday night sweeping all four games against one of our rivals. Here are the scores:

The girls have started their season off with an exciting 2 day tournament. Both teams won their games on Friday getting into the semi finals on Saturday. Both teams lost that game which put them into the third place game against Salado. The 7th grade team won but the 8th grade team came up just a bit short meaning 7th grade got third place and the 8th graders placed fourth in the eight team tournament. Their next game will be tonight against Rogers on the road. Games will start at 5pm and the format will be 7B, 8B, 7A, 8A. Please make the short trip if you are able and show your support!
The first annual Jarrell B Team tournament has come and gone and it was a resounding success. One that we look forward to hosting for years to come. Here are the results:
7B girls won 11-9 over Thrall and then lost to Salado 14-10 in the championship, placing 2nd.
8B girls won 35-20 over Thrall and then lost to Salado 30-15 in the championship, placing 2nd.
Congrats to all the girls that participated and a big thanks to all the parents that came to support and especially to those that helped out. We couldn't have had a successful tournament with out you. This officially wraps up the 2016-2017 basketball season for the girls at JMS. On to track season!

7B tied 9-9
8B won 18-16 completing their undefeated regular season and defacto district championship
7A lost 23-9
8A won 32-29
The A teams are done for the year. The B teams have a tournament this Saturday.
The annual A Team tournament has come and gone and the girls played really well. The 8A team got 2nd place losing to Salado in the championship 35-15. The 7A team had the same fate against Salado with a score of 20-12. Both teams played really hard and deserve their second place plaques.
Their next contest will be the last regular season game of the year for all four teams AT Academy starting at 5:00 this Thursday, Feb. 2nd. After that we have the first annual B team tournament on the 4th which will conclude the Lady Cougars' season. Please come out and continue to show your support for these great kids. Thanks!

The girls hosted Franklin last Thursday and it was a mixed bag. The 7th grade teams both lost but the 8th grade teams both won meaning that the 8B team is STILL undefeated with only two games to go.

8B won 14-5 (Still undefeated)

Their next contest will be at home against Rogers. There are only two games left not including the two upcoming tournaments so please come show your support while you still can!
The 7th grade was off for the night so it was up to the 8th grade to bring home glory for Jarrell and did they ever! 8B won 43-8 and is still undefeated on the season. 8A also won big 41-5.
Their next game will be at home vs Franklin next Thursday, January 19th. Please come out and show your support and as always, thanks for being the best parents a program could ask for.

The girls played their first home game in over a month last night and for three out of the four teams, it was a tough but hard fought night. Here are the scores:

We will be taking a break over the holidays. There will be no after school practice this week for any team due to semester exams. The girls will next take the court on Thursday, January 5th against Hearne on the road. Please make sure the girls get up to the high school on Sundays from 2-4 over Christmas break to help keep their games sharp. Thanks and have a great holiday!
